Deadly bomb attack 'won't derail peace talks' | Bangkok Post: news

A motorcycle bomb that killed three people and wounded 34 others at Pimolchai fresh market in Yala on Monday will not affect peace talks between Thailand and insurgency groups in the far South, officials said yesterday. Authorities have yet to confirm the motive behind the attack, which appears aimed at civilians but may have been orchestrated in retaliation against state officials, officials said. The motorcycle bomb exploded at 6am at Pimolchai fresh market in Yala. The government has entered into peace talks with several insurgent groups. Over 400 civilians and officials marched to Pimolchai fresh market to observe one minute of silence for the victims.
